The Paralympic Games is an international multi-sport event involving athletes with a range of physical disabilities. These disabilities include impaired muscle power, impaired passive range of movement, limb deficiency, leg length difference, short stature, hypertonia, ataxia, vision impairment and intellectual impairment.
Just two weeks after the Olympics Games, the Paralympics also comprise of both Summer and Winter competition.

But that is not all they have to fight for. Equality from not only the world but also with their non-disabled Olympic counterparts is an issue they face every day.
The large funding gap between Olympic and Paralympic athletes must be closed. Not only are these athletes fighting themselves, their limits and the expectations the world has, they are also fighting financially.
Let’s work together to raise the funds these athletes need to make a difference in this world. Let’s help them train, compete and bring home medals for the United States these Rio Games and the ones to come!
